| The ultimate aim of the project is to facilitate the restoration and protection of a unique ‘A’ listed cottage with traditional “hingin lum” and an associated horse mill, both of which are located in an important archaeological site. The company is leasing the whole site from Invercauld Estate for an initial 25 year period and is working with The Cairngorms Natioal Park, Historic Scotland and The Regional Archaeologist to rescue the buildings which have become derelict and are in danger of being totally lost. This project is the first, crucial phase of a three year programme to restore the buildings, record the work and the archaeology. The cottage urgently needs protection from the weather to prevent further deterioration and to afford the team time to carry out the necessary detailed inspection and assessment of the work required. |
