• To define North Angus Walking opportunities (both infrastructure and support services) and identify development needs.
• To investigate walking markets relative to the opportunities in North Angus and to deliver a marketing strategy.
• To engage stakeholders, local and business communities both in the strategy development and the identification of walking product opportunities.
• To consider partnership models which place the onus for leadership with the private sector for developing, managing and marketing the identified walking products and to consult widely on the models identified.
• To assess the resource implications of these models.
• To undertake risk assessment of these models;
• To reach agreement on the preferred model(s) and to initiate implementation fully engaging local and business communities in the process.

This project is a pilot study to identify the opportunities for development of walking in North Angus as an economic driver that fully engages both the Private/public sectors.
The grant will be used, along with match funding, to employ a part time consultancy over a 19 month period.
The consultant will be charged with investigating the potential of the walking market in Angus for both visitors and the indigenous population, engaging stakeholders in North Angus (in particular the business community) in the development of a marketing strategy for walking, and associated product development opportunities and developing management models for these products which again fully engage stakeholders.
This work will very much support and integrate with other work being undertaken in the Park area.
