Association of Cairngorms Community Councils – Development & Expansion
This project will build on the good work of the original project, and its main aims will be:

• To build on the pilot mapping exercise of the community sector to identify the additional support needed to be put in place for wider communities to work towards a sustainable future.
Action: commission work to create a community strategy, hold a community seminar

• To build on the membership and ensure representation from all sectors of the communities within the Cairngorms National Park and develop relationships with Community Companies, Trusts, Enterprises, Business Associations, Chamber of Commerce etc.
Action: Attend others' meetings, visit areas and work to create new relationships
• To motivate the expanded the Association to engage as a significant stakeholder in the Park area.
Action: work with the Community Planning Partnerships, CNPA in the implementation of the Park Plan, work with the Destination Management Organisations
• To initiate ways of creating income streams in order that the Association be sustainable in the long term
Action: seek to involve the Association in research, development, waste management and renewable energy studies or similar
This project will continue until end February 2008, however, LEADER involvement will take place early in 2007.
