| Being Young in Badenoch | |
| The main aims of the project are: To enrich the lives of young people by providing them with free, fun, funky and friendly arts activities in the evenings during the autumn and winter 2006. To create a united approach in the delivery of youth services in Badenoch and Strathspey. To provide young people opportunities to divert them from anti-social behaviour and substance misuse. To build relationships with the young people, to work with them on a longer term basis addressing anti-social behaviour issues. Young people are empowered to work towards a shared goal and take ownership of the project. Young people have the opportunity to develop arts based skills. Young people have the opportunity to display their art work on a public platform (the Iona Gallery) in a professional art gallery resulting in increased confidence and self-esteem. Young people have the opportunity to develop interpersonal skills in a safe and friendly environment. Young people from different communities have the opportunity to network with peers outwith the school environment. Youth and Street workers will develop arts based skills by working with and learning from specialist arts tutors to help sustainability of longer term work. Young people will have easy access to the activities on offer. | |
