Affordable Health & Fitness Video (Ref: LEA019) APPLICANT:Cairngorms Partnership

The purpose of this project is to produce a short video to promote the existing Affordable Health and Fitness scheme in Badenoch and Strathspey. The scheme aims to help socially excluded individuals in the area to make better use of existing resources, including walking, fitness classes and the facilities at Glenmore Lodge, to improve their health and fitness. This video will help promote the scheme to new clients as well as potential funders; and will be used at the English and Welsh National Parks Spring Conference to demonstrate that using the “green gymnasium” to achieve better health can provide a socially inclusive method of attracting people into the National Parks.
Main Aims & Objectives:
To produce a promotional video for the existing scheme focusing on three case studies of those who have already benefited.
To use the video to disseminate innovative Scottish best practice in this field at the English and Welsh National Parks Spring conference in March 2003.
To encourage new participants into the continuation scheme.
The project was approved on 4 February 2003.
The total cost of the project is £4,000 with a contribution of 45% from Cairngorms LEADER+.
