| The CNPA proposes to continue the grant scheme to encourage communities in the National Park to undertake activities related to the aims of the Park Plan including the natural & cultural environment of the area. To that end, a grant of 90% funding will be available for projects worth between £500 and £5,000. The scheme will fund projects relating to community capacity building and networking; local marketing and events; local biodiversity; local interpretation planning and implementation; and small-scale access infrastructure. Applicants will be encouraged to develop sustainable activities whereby the impact of the event or activity will continue after it has taken place. The scheme will run for 1 year and the LEADER+ funding is for the remainder of the LEADER+ period of 2007, however, the CNPA are actively seeking funding to continue a community investment programme for the future. Also it is hoped that the new "LEADER" type of rural development support will be clarified by the end of 2007.
