Cairngorms Timberlink (Ref: LEA 033) APPLICANT: Forestry Contracting Association
The project will examine the feasibility of establishing an agricultural and forestry machinery ring within the Cairngorms LEADER+ area.

· Develop a cost/benefit plan for a single joint agricultural/forestry ring in the area
· Arrange open meetings to listen to local views and sell the idea to existing rings and local influencers in the area
· Collect and collate responses to gauge demand
· Prepare an action plan to establish Cairngorms Timberlink as a sustainable co-operative venture

· It is anticipated that the initial research phase described above will take 30 days over a period of 6 months (01 September 2003 - 29 February 2004)

The project was approved on the 2nd October 2003.
The total cost of the project is £9,500 with a contribution of 45% from Cairngorms LEADER+.
