Example Projects

Bellabeg – The Eastern Entrance to the Cairngorms National Park (Ref: LEA 076) APPLICANT: Lonach Hall Community Association
The project takes a holistic view of access provision around Bellabeg. The community and several agencies have come together to consider how the area can be promoted in a thoughtful and imaginative way that reflects the unique qualities of the area. A network of paths, some new, some existing will be created/improved in the area surrounding the Doune and the Lost War Memorial. Interpretation of how this network leads into the wider area will be an important aspect of the project. The interpretation will subtly lead the resident and tourist to appreciate not only the natural beauty of the area but give historic reference to the developments in the area
The project was approved on the 2nd September 2004.
The Total Cost of this project is £51,490 with a contribution of 45% from Cairngorms LEADER+.
